COMMUNICATION All information regarding the dance enrichment program will be emailed and printed to put in your dancers backpack. All emails will be sent from Lizzy@alamocityarts.org through Dance Studio Pro(Dance Studio Pro will say "Katie@alamocityarts.org") or regular email. END OF SEMESTER SHOWCASE Near the end of our enrichment program, all dance classes will be participating in an end of semester showcase for all friends and family to enjoy. More information is listed below!

Showcase Information
DATE, TIME & LOCATION - May 3rd, 2024 - 6:00PM Showtime (Dancer calltime is 4:45pm) - St.Luke's McNab Family Gymnasium
DANCER INFORMATION All dancers must meet in the dance studio on May 3rd by 4:45pm. If your dancer is not accounted for by 4:45pm, they will not be permitted to perform at the showcase. This allows all dancers to be fit into their costumes/accessories and prepare for dancing on a stage in front of a crowd. If your dancer is in afterschool care, please email Ms.Lizzy if you would like us to grab your dancer. Please note, parents will not be permitted into the dance studio for any reason, parents may drop their dancer off and wait in the gymnasium. If your student is nervous you may stay in the hallway with your dancer. Dancers are encouraged to bring a water bottle and a dry snack to eat before the showcase, no wet, sticky or greasy foods to avoid staining or transfer to costumes.
Encouraged snacks include: - Animal Crackers - Dry granola bars ( no chocolate chips, marshmallows, etc.) - Graham Crackers Please avoid: - Potato Chips - Fruit Snacks - Cheetos (If you would not trust your dancer to eat their snack in a white formal dress/suit, please do not bring it)
COSTUMING If you have paid your recital costume fee, your dancer will receive their costume on the day of the Showcase, dancers will be permitted to take their costumes home after the conclusion of the showcase. Below will be the specific costuming needs supplied by the performer in each class who paid their costume fee. Please note, if you did not pay your costume fee your dancer(s) will not receive any costumes or accessories and will be required to supply their own dance uniform which can be found at AlamoCityArtsAcademy.org. Creative Movement Female - Pink tights, pink ballet shoes Male - Black pants, black ballet or jazz shoes Ballet Female - Pink tights, pink ballet shoes Folklorico Female - Shorts to the length of your comfort, nude or white tank top, tan tights, black folklorico shoes
Please have students wear cover-ups and additional shoes when entering the dance studio. Do not wear your ballet shoes outside of the dance studio.
HAIR & MAKEUP Dancers are not required to wear makeup but may if they choose. Lipstick - True Red Lipstick (No orange or blue undertones), a lipstain is best to avoid transfer of costumes Eyeshadow - Earth toned eyeshadows(No purple, blue, green, etc.) All female dancer must wear their hair in a ballet bun at the crown of the head, no flyaways, no wispies. If your dancer's hair is too short to put into a bun, we recommend a small thin headband to keep hair our of the dancer's face.
PHOTOS & VIDEOS Parents are encouraged to take pictures and videos but are asked to not use flash as it may become distracting to our younger dancers.
