Kathleen “Katie” Rodriguez Hall is a San Antonio native whose more than 40 years in the performing arts have taken her from student and performer to choreographer, producer, educator, and arts executive. With a professional background spanning the performing arts, international business, media, financial management, and nonprofit administration, Katie brings a uniquely broad perspective to her leadership of Alamo City Arts.
Katie began her training under Scott Conway at the San Antonio School for the Performing Arts, developing an extensive background in classical ballet, jazz, tap, ballet folklórico, flamenco, Latin ballroom, musical theatre, and live performance. She later joined Alamo City Dance Company, performing in productions including The Nutcracker, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Lepidoptera. Her connection to San Antonio’s cultural arts also led her to Fiesta Noche del Rio, where she performed as a core dancer before being crowned Miss Fiesta San Antonio in 2001. |

Katie earned her degree in English from Texas A&M University, where she also studied international business and served as president and choreographer of the award-winning Ballet Folklórico Celestial. Her professional career expanded beyond the stage into radio and business, including international business experience with BMP Radio and later consulting work. This combination of artistic training, business experience, and communications expertise became an important foundation for her approach to nonprofit arts leadership.
After returning to San Antonio, Katie rejoined the organization where her own artistic training began and ultimately succeeded her longtime teacher and mentor, Scott Conway, as Artistic Director. Together with President and CEO Cory McRae, she helped lead the evolution of Alamo City Arts from a primarily dance-focused organization into a multidisciplinary organization encompassing dance, music, theatre, cultural arts, and arts education.
Today, Katie holds final artistic oversight of Alamo City Arts programming and directly oversees Alamo City Dance Company, Alamo City Ballet Folklórico, and Alamo City Arts Academy while collaborating with artistic leaders throughout the organization. As Chief Financial Officer, she also oversees budgeting, accounting, payroll, compliance, and financial planning, bringing artistic ambition and financial sustainability together in the organization's long-term planning.
Katie additionally serves as Director of Fiesta Noche del Rio, overseeing the historic San Antonio production in its entirety. Her responsibilities encompass artistic direction, choreography, music, and costuming as well as marketing, budgeting, hiring, contracts, production logistics, and negotiations with the City of San Antonio and community partners.
Katie’s combination of artistic, financial, and operational leadership allows her to approach the performing arts from both sides of the curtain. Whether developing a production, negotiating a partnership, balancing a budget, working directly with artists and students, or stepping in wherever a production needs her, her focus remains on creating sustainable opportunities for exceptional performing arts to thrive in the community she has always called home.
