Parent & Me - Pre-Ballet (Ages 18–36 months)

Parent & Me (Caregiver & Child)
This engaging class is a wonderful opportunity for parents and toddlers to bond, explore, and have fun through movement and music.


What we do in class
  • Playful activities and creative-movement exercises
  • Simple dance steps and patterns
  • Singing, dancing, and prop work (scarves, ribbons, etc.)
Skills we build
  • Physical development and body awareness
  • Coordination, rhythm, and musicality
  • Social interaction and confidence
Learning environment
Led by experienced instructors in a nurturing, supportive setting that encourages self-expression and creativity.

Why families love it
Introduces toddlers to the world of dance while creating a special bonding experience for parents and their little ones.

We recommend that Parent & Me students take this 45-minute class once a week.
​Requirements:
  • Able to confidently walk independently
  • Must wear uniform
  • One(1) Parent/Guardian must be present for the entirety of the class 
  • Option 1: Light pink cap sleeved leotard with attached skirt. Pink footed tights* and pink ballet shoes.  Hair worn up in a tight bun. ​
  • Option 2: White or black fitted T-Shirt. Black bike shorts, tights, or leggings. Black ballet shoes.  Hair worn out of the face and eyes.

Creative Movement - Pre-Ballet 1 with Tap - (Ages 3-5)

Creative Movement (Pre-Ballet 1 with Tap) — Ages 3–6

This independent-level class introduces young dancers to the fundamentals of dance in a fun, supportive setting. We build coordination, rhythm, musicality, and confidence through age-appropriate movement, music, and imaginative play.

How the class runs: About three-quarters of each class is dedicated to pre-ballet, followed by a short tap segment.

Pre-Ballet focus (first 30–35 minutes):
  • Posture, body awareness, and classroom etiquette
  • Basic positions (first, second), plié and relevé
  • Simple traveling steps (marches, skips, chassés) and creative movement
Tap focus (last 10–15 minutes):
  • Keeping a steady beat and counting to music
  • Foundational steps (toe-heel, shuffles, stamps)
  • Short, playful combinations to build timing and coordination
We use upbeat music and simple props (like scarves and ribbons) to spark creativity and keep learning engaging. Students wear ballet slippers for the pre-ballet portion and tap shoes for the tap segment; the teacher will cue the change.
We recommend that Creative Movement students take this one-hour class once a week.

  • Potty Trained.
  • Able to attend the 1 hour class with out parent.
  • Must wear uniform. ​

Pre-Folklorico - Pre-Ballet with Folklorico - (Ages 3-5)

Pre-Folklórico — Ages 3–5 (Movement Basics, Independent-Level)

What we focus on
  • Coordination, rhythm, and musicality
  • Foundational footwork (zapateado basics: toe–heel, stamps)
  • Skirt/arm pathways (faldeo & braceo) scaled for age
  • Listening skills: steady beat, simple palmas (handclaps)
  • Creative movement and classroom etiquette
How it works
  • Playful warm-up and coordination games
  • Short across-the-floor patterns and tiny combos
  • About ½–¾ of class in ballet slippers or socks, then switch to folklórico shoes (teacher cues the change)
  • Upbeat music and props to keep learning fun and age-appropriate
Requirements
  • Potty-trained and able to attend a one-hour class without a parent
  • Attire: black shirt or leotard; black bike shorts, tights, or leggings; hair pulled away from the face
  • Footwear: ballet slippers or clean socks (movement segment); white folklórico shoes (folklórico segment)
  • Optional: lightweight practice skirt (teacher will advise)
It is recommended that Pre-Folklorico students take this one-hour class once a week.
Option 1: Black leotard, Pink footed tights, pink ballet shoes and black folklorico shoes. Hair worn out of the face and eyes.

Bust a Move - Ages 3-5 (Jazz/Hiphop)

Bust A Move — Ages 3–5 (Movement Basics, Independent-Level)

What we focus on
  • Coordination, rhythm, and musicality
  • Simple Travel Steps (weight-transfers, ball-change)
  • Foundational Steps (fan kick, battements, jete)
  • Listening skills: steady beat, simple rhythms
  • Creative movement and classroom etiquette
How it works
  • Playful warm-up and coordination games
  • Short across-the-floor patterns and tiny combos
  • About ½–¾ of class learning foundational Jazz technique and 1/4 of class learning foundational Hiphop
  • Upbeat music and props to keep learning fun and age-appropriate
Requirements
  • Potty-trained and able to attend a one-hour class without a parent
  • Attire: black shirt or leotard; black bike shorts, tights, or leggings; hair pulled away from the face
  • Footwear: jazz shoes or clean socks (movement segment)
It is recommended that Bust a Move students take this one-hour class once a week.
Option 1: Black leotard, Pink footed tights, Black bike shorts or leggings. Tan jazz shoes. Hair worn out of the face and eyes.

Folklórico 1 — Ages 5–7 (Introductory Level)

Folklórico 1 — Ages 5–7 (Introductory Level)

What we focus on
  • Rhythm and body coordination
  • Foundational footwork (zapateado basics: toe–heel, stamps)
  • Skirt work (faldeo) and arm carriage (braceo)
  • Musicality: steady beat, simple palmas (handclaps), listening and response
  • Cultural context: age-appropriate intros to regions/music
How it works
  • Playful warm-up and coordination games
  • Short across-the-floor patterns and simple combinations
  • Clear teacher demos; upbeat music; positive, encouraging pace
Requirements
  • Uniform: black shirt or leotard; black bike shorts, tights, or leggings
  • Hair: pulled away from the face
  • Skirt & shoes (female dancers): black folklórico skirt at mid-calf with a single ruffle and green accents; white folklórico shoes
  • Able to attend the one-hour class without a parent
  • Option 1: Black leotard, t shirt or tank top and black shorts or leggings with Black or white heeled folklorico shoes. Folklorico skirt color of choice. Hair worn up and out of face. ​

​Ballet 1 - Beginning Ballet (Ages 6-8)

Level 1 Ballet — Beginner
An independent, introductory class for students with little or no prior ballet experience.


What we focus on
  • Fundamental technique: positions of the feet/arms, plié, tendu, relevé, and small jumps
  • Alignment, posture, balance, coordination, and basic vocabulary
  • Musicality and quality of movement through short, age-appropriate combinations
How class runs
  • Warm-up at the barre: posture/alignment and gentle stretching
  • Center work: port de bras, balances, traveling steps
  • Allegro: small, safe jumps appropriate to level
Environment
Supportive and encouraging students progress at their own pace while building confidence and self-expression.


Recommendations
  • Attend 1–2 ballet classes per week consistently
​Requirements:​
  • Able to attend the 1 hour class with out parent.
  • Must wear uniform. ​
  • Option 1: Black cap sleeved leotard with ballet pink tights and pink ballet shoes. Skirt optional  Hair worn up in a tight bun. ​
