Jay MarkovJay began his training at age 7 with Slawomir and Irena Wozniak of Master Ballet Academy. He continued on to receive full scholarships and training at San Francisco Ballet School and Harid Conservatory. Jay’s professional career began in 2012 dancing with Ballet Arizona and later on Los Angeles Ballet, Festival Ballet of Providence, and Ballet Palm Beach. He has enjoyed performing numerous principal and soloist roles in classic’s such as Giselle, Swan Lake, Napoli, Romeo and Juliet, and La Bayadere. As well as Balanchine’s productions of Western Symphony, Violin Concerto, Prodigal Son, Who Cares, Four Temperaments and more. Some of his favorite roles have been Waltz Boy in Balanchine’s Serenade and Oberon in Ashton’s The Dream. Jay has been privileged to work under directors and choreographers Ib Anderson, Thordal Christensen, Colleen and Patricia Neary, Meghan Lou, Aszure Barton, Alejandro Cerrudo, Viktor Plotnikov, and Yury Yanowsky. When not dancing Jay enjoys teaching students and performing as a guest artist for schools.
