Step into the magical world of Oz at Emerald City Adventures, an exciting musical theater camp led by the renowned Shawn Kjos and the talented team at Alamo City Stage Company. Inspired by the recently released Wicked movie, and the timeless musical, this immersive experience will bring young performers into the arts of singing, dancing, acting, and costume design, capturing the enchantment of Oz like never before!
🎭 Camp Highlights:✨ Emerald City Ensemble – Strengthen your group performance skills while working together on dynamic musical numbers.
✨ Wicked Moves – Show off your contemporary choreography inspired by Wicked!
✨ Wizard’s Wardrobe – Dive into costume and character design to bring your Oz-inspired look to life.
✨ Popular Performance – Explore acting for musical theater while perfecting your stage presence.
✨ A Song of Oz – Build your musical theater repertoire with iconic songs from Wicked and beyond!
Throughout the week, campers will sing, dance, act, and create, culminating in a thrilling showcase performance on Friday where they’ll take the stage in front of friends and family!
🎶 Camp Details:🌟 Ages 5-8: Emerald City Explorers – A fun and interactive introduction to theater, focusing on acting, singing, and beginner-level choreography.
🌟 Ages 9-12: Wickedly Talented Performers – A more advanced program with challenging singing and dance routines, perfect for young stars ready to take their skills to the next level.
🌈 13 but still want to participate?You get to decide! Be part of the performance or run the show by joining our CIT (Counselor-in-Training) Program! As a CIT, you’ll mentor younger campers, assist with rehearsals, help backstage, and gain leadership experience—all while still having the chance to perform in the showcase if you choose!
🌟 Ages 14+: Counselors in Training (CIT) Program – A more advanced program with challenging singing and dance routines, perfect for young stars ready to take their skills to the next level. Are you 14+ and passionate about theater? Our Counselors in Training (CIT) program is the perfect opportunity to develop your leadership skills while immersing yourself in the magic of musical theater! As a CIT, you’ll assist with managing younger campers, learning valuable camp management and leadership techniques. But that’s not all—you’ll also get to participate in the creative process! CITs will perform in the showcase alongside campers, contribute to costume and set creation, and experience the thrill of bringing the world of Wicked to life.
This program is ideal for teens who love theater and want hands-on experience both on stage and behind the scenes. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to lead, create, and perform!
